Sutton Special Risk Among Canada’s Top SMEs (2024)

Sutton Special Risk is delighted to share we have been selected as one of Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers for 2024. We take great pride in our people and the culture we've built at Sutton, and winning this award is a testament to both.

This award annually recognizes the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that offer the nation's best workplaces and forward-thinking human resources policies. Now in its 11th year, the award evaluates participating companies based on eight key criteria: (1) Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere & Social; (3) Health, Financial & Family Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time Off; (5) Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training & Skills Development; and (8) Community Involvement.

Here are some of the reasons why we were selected as one of Canada's Top Small & Medium Employers (2024):

• Sutton Special Risk supports ongoing employee development through a variety of in-house training initiatives, including paid internships, formal mentoring, leadership development and financial bonuses for the completion of certain courses -- employees also receive subsidies for professional accreditation, along with tuition subsidies for job-related programs

• Sutton Special Risk helps employees plan ahead with retirement planning assistance services along with generous matching RSP contributions, to five percent of salary

• Sutton Special Risk supports family planning, offering employees a generous fertility drug benefit as part of the health benefits program (up to $12,000 when needed)
